The one major problem in running lights is how to control them. However with this simple system, you will be up and running in no-time at all. It is as easy as pressing a button.

The system is called X10. All wireless which is another bonus. The way it works is simple. The signal from the controller is sent over the existing wiring in the building to a reciever. The reciever is a simple device about the size of a fist. This system make everything so easy. All you need is a controller, transiever, and a reciever. The first thing you need for your system is a controller. Below are two fairly basic types. There are many to chose from. There is even a computer device that will act as a timer turning devices on and off all automatically.

If you are using a wireless controller like the one directly above, then you will need a transiever. A transiever recieves RF (radio frequency) code from the controller. Then it turns this signal into an X10 signal which is then brodcasted over the existing wiring. It will also act as an appliance module.

The last thing you will need is a reciever. The reciever or module revieves the command from the house wiring and either turns on or off the device or dims with some models. Lamp modules dim, appliance modules switch on and off only.

This is good if you don't like wiring!
